A Coffee Group for Creatives

"We have coffee or tea. And everyone identifies as a creative"

That's the tagline for my Meetup groups. Coffee Creatives.

Creative Influences

I link creativity to the inputs we give it. Some are harder to change such as family or where we live but others are under our immediate control.

The music we listen to, the things we read and watch all influence our thoughts.

And the people we surround ourselves with are the most important.

The Coffee Creatives

Thus a meetup group created of the selfish reason of wanting to meet people with a creative outlook.

It's a place for us to meet up and talk about projects, hobbies or whatever is on our minds. Extended activities include wanders in the park and paddleboarding.

Creatives like that they can come as often as they want. There's no commitment and some find what they need at their first Coffee.

Most meetups are midday in the week, with some happening on weekends. We get a variety of dabblers, professionals, hobbyists and students. We've had songwriters, roleplayers, clowns, artists, crafters and some there for a coffee.

Your Own Creative Groups

If you want more creative people around you then reach out.  Rekindle an old friendship, contact a creator you admire

Or start your own group.

It might look like mine or be something different. A book club, an Urban Sketchers group, a weekly crafts group or improv theatre troupe.

Finishing Up

We started nine months pre-covid, so got established before UK lockdown. We've adapted, going virtual in lockdown and outdoors in summer Covid. As winter approaches we're restricting numbers and being selective of venues.

We'll see what creative challenges the next year throws our way.
